Census Indexing
Jun. 8th, 2012 07:55 amI am participating in indexing the 1940 U.S. census at FamilySearch.org. As part of an incentive program, they have created 'badges' for each state an indexer works on. If I'd known they were going to do this, I would have made more of an effort to index every state. As it is, I only chose those where I believe I had relatives living at the time. (Except for Hawaii, which I just indexed because I wanted to see what kind of people were living there: lots of Japanese. And no, I have not run across the names of anyone I know.) Unfortunately, some states are already complete, so it will be impossible to collect a full set of 50 from here on out. But here are mine so far:
